The following was taken from a post on another board and I'm curious if anyone here has ever heard of this:

Sounds like a scare tactic to me (against kibble). Think of it this way, if all dog food had mites in it, you'd see them, the food would be partially rancid, and the dog would have persistent oral problems from bites (and facial swelling). Also consider the testing. Mites can be found in any slide exam.
And as for the allergy testing, if this was by chance, tested through BNA (Bio Nutritional Analysis-through Antech Diagnostics), the owner wasted their money.
i would sell a bag of dog food, even science diet aned the people would bring it back cause it had mites, i think harvest mites so i would trade them off for another fresh bag, checking it first...then i would take the bag i got back from them , bring it home and put it in the freezer to kill the mites and then feed it to my dogs...never did see any adverse reaction such as allergies etc...in fact there is good protein in these mites...after a while i used to put all the new bags i got in the freezer before dispensing it...live mites or nits whatever look gross alive but when dead no one notices..you can find them in even home boxes of cereals ,flour, grains etc....
most, if not all mite allergies are due to the bite of the mite...i would question that the eating or digesting mites would cause an allergic reaction,,,just like people can drink rattlesnake venum with no problem (assuming no mouth sores) but to have it injected is a differnet ball game...not a good simili, similey, smily or what ever but you get the point????
all that stuff is connected....i think it is a hormone thing and mostly in teenagers, at least they were the only one i tested on...ie had them squeeze the pores of the nose and them put the gook on a slide and you talk about grossing people out...hear more squeals and ughs etc when they looked at the slide....things like that kept me happy.....weired huh ??? and lets no knocke my spelling or i wil hve to start preveuwing my posts....
