October of 2005, we brought Randy home to foster with intent. The poor fellow had been sitting at the Race The Wind kennels for 2 1/2 years. Adopters always passed him up as he was scared to death of strangers and would sit way in the back of his kennel, trembling. He was picked up as a stray who had been running loose for at least two weeks by Wichita Animal Control, and RTW was contacted to see if they could take him. He had tangled badly with a barbed wire fence, and still has numerous scars from that.
We officially signed the adoption papers on December 17th, 2005, so that is when we celebrate his 'gotcha' day! We love you, Dandy Randy!
Scared to death when he first got to our house, all 'panty' and trembling despite our best efforts.
He much preferred the safety of his crate for several days!
First full day at my house, and leaving pee-mail for the neighbor!
Wanna dance, Ma?
He couldn't stand hearing me eat chips, so it was his first time out of my bedroom without being coaxed! :hysterica
He quickly settled in and blossomed!
Ummmm, Randy? That's a cat bed and it's pink!
He loves his screaming monkey!
Watching the squirrels on the feeder (can you say appetizer?!)
Just a little cuddle time with his ma!
Oh how I love that nose!
Happy belated gotcha day, big guy! We love you!
Happy belated first gotcha day, Randy!
Re: Happy belated first gotcha day, Randy!
He's beautiful. It's so good that you took a chance on him when no one else would. They are always worth it in the end!
Re: Happy belated first gotcha day, Randy!
