Honeybun has a little sister!!!

Post by Mona »

Yes, we have a new member of the family!! aka Cloe Jean
(C.J. for short). She is all white with a few large black spots, mostly pink pads, large eyes (green so far) and is very energetic.

I took my daughter to the shelter and they had mostly males and older cats (a lot of them had URI). We were about to give up, when my daughter found the cutest little 9-10 week old kitty. I fell in love.

Please think of her today she was spayed yesterday, and is having microchiping and her tests today before we can bring her home.

I checked her over and she is purrrfect, clean ears, good teeth cute as a button. She played with a tiny mouse and rolled around.

When she is feeling better I will post some pics!!

Mona, I can't wait to see her, and Honeybun again too!

Be prepared Honeybun isnt going to be too appreciative right away, but I'm sure in time, she will adjust. Just give her extra time and attention during the introduction period.

Congratulations!!

Traci~

Thanks!! I am going to isolate little Cloe in a large carrier and her own room for now and go slowly with Honeybun. I am hoping she accepts the kitten more rapidly than an older female, and is nurturing.

I am hoping a new companion will help her feel better and playful. Although she (Honeybun) has been playing.
I am going to get Yesterday's News for Cloe (or Chloe not sure yet) since she has been spayed. She is very intelligent and litter trained etc.

My heart broke for all those older cats at the shelter, some were 8 and 9 years old, and looked like lost souls. My friend is adopting an older female which I am happy about (3 years old). This shelter had a dropoff of over 25 kittens in one evening at the night drop on June 9th. It is really a terrible concern. They end up euthanizing them every week. It is so sad.

Please everyone spay and neuter all pets!!

Congratulations on your new addition. Kittens are so much fun. I think you are right, a resident female will probably accept a kitten easier than an adult cat.

Little Chloe is home and sleepy from the spay, but otherwise doing well and cute!

She is sleeping in her new carrier being attended to by my daughter Amber.

Pics will follow as soon as she is able. :)

Congratulations Mona,

That is great news. We've been away for a while but I was just thinking the other day about a playmate for Isabelle. (Remember us??) I should have gotten her brother when I got her, but I was thinking that two cats were "two" much trouble. Now I think she is just bored during the day which is why she is still acting like a toddler.

Let me know how all this goes so I can see if my queen bee would tolerate a newbie.

Congratulations on your new addition to your family. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of Cloe Jean.

Thank you for rescuing this little one. It's so hard to go to the shelter and not feel bad for the ones not chosen.

I hope Cloe and Honeybun get on well. It always takes time but I'm sure they'll take to each other quickly under your guidance and care.

:D
