Cat Urine Help

Post by Guest »

Hi im new here but i have a huge problem. I have 3 female cats. 1 is about 2 years old and the others are only 11 months. The oldest and one of the younger cats have recently developed the habit of peeing on my bed. This happens constantly and i cannot get them to stop. Im constantly having to wash everything on my bed and sleep on the couch. I dont know what to do, i love my cats very much and do not want to get rid of them but i cannot let this continue. please help if you know anything i can do to change the situation. thank you, David

it is possible an infection (uti) is causing this, if the urination causes pain the kitties are likely to go in a place they feel comforatable with (either they love your bed or its got the right amount of softness to it).

you dont want this to continue unchecked by a vet for too long, i would recommend an appt for both. let us know.

keep in mind that changes like this from cats are a sign of needed attention mostly, and quite often medical attention. so you can forget about needing to get rid of them, sounds like they are simply communicating a need to you.

Jason is correct, it is imperative that you get your cats tested for urinary tract infection and/or urinary crystals right away. Do not delay one more day...this is an extremely serious problem in cats. Inappropriate urination is an *extremely* common problem in cats who have urinary infections and crystals. Your cats are most likely trying to tell you something, and good news is, your vet will be able to help you fix it! Please, call your vet *now*, and let us know how things turn out.

I'll concur with what jason and kk said...vet check is imperative...
