My next door neighbor found Cali-Co in her driveway yesterday morning dead. She rang my bell to let me know. We looked at her and we think she may have been hit by a car. There was no sign of injury, but she had some bleeding from the mouth. Car? Poison? I hope it was a car and there's no nut job out there laying out poison.
I just saw her the night before and she was fine and looking for treats. Morris wasn't with her, but I petted her on the porch and gave her some treats.
I wish I oculd have found her a home...I couldn't take her in myself. She wasn't one to cross the street much, that I saw, but it only takes one time. I wish there was more I could have done for her. I finally saw Morris and I think this morning it is just kicking in to him that she is missing. He seemed whiney.
My neighbor and I buried her under a nice tree. Morris doesn't always show for breakfast, but I put it out anyway this moring. Cali-Co was always waiting...just felt so empty.
Rest in peace Cali-Co, my beautiful girl...I'll always love you.
