Keep them INSIDE!!!

Post by kehorner »

As I was leaving a store this afternoon, I saw a beautiful cat laying dead in the street. That's sad enough, but then I was checking something out on craigslist and found this:

"my cat has disappeared. he is an orange tiger with green eyes. he has a flabby jiggle belly. i let my dog out around 3pm yesterday... and he ran out too... up the pine tree to chase birds. i came in... took a nap.. woke up realised he was nowhere to be found. i went to work... came home... still he wasnt home. he has always come back within 15 minutes of being outside. i walked up and down the street to see if maybe he was hit by a car....nothing. someone has him. he is very friendly and likes everyone.

the sad thing is he isnt even my cat... ive been taking care of him for a friend who is off on world adventures.

please god if someone has him/knows where he is please call me immediately. ANYTIME. i dont care if its 3,4am...please call me. "

Well, it was right in the same area. So I gave the girl a call. She'd already seen him and said that she'd called animal control to pick him up. Couldn't even be bothered to take care of him properly, but just left him there in the street for somebody else to deal with. If I actually had land, I would be tempted to go get him and bury him. But I have nowhere to do that.

Just one more sad story about a cat that should have been kept inside.

Sounds like that friend might be a friend no more. That is so sad...didn't have to happen.

Another reason to make sure the person caring for your pet is responsible and trustworthy.

I have no tolerance for stories like this today...

People should have to apply for licenses to have pets, maybe even an IQ test... I don't know... stupidity shouldn't cost an innocent animal its life...

Grrr! I have not patience for this sheer irresponsibility.

Poor kittie and doggie, I do hope someone caring has the dog and can provide a better home for him too.

You have no idea how many animals we get from people who are "Taking Care" of a friends pet who suddenly decide that it is too much trouble. Then the friend comes home and freaks out because thier pet is gone. THen they can't understand why the former friend spurns them, after all it was just a _____________. (Fill in the blank with whatever animal you can think of.

We have one right now that the brother was supposed to be feeding, but he stopped because the dog growled at him. We came and took the dog because he hadn't fed it for 3 days. His owner is out of town on business and won't be back for two weeks. We may not be able to hold the dog that long and the brother refuses to pick up the dog. They are now not on speaking terms.
