I really can;t add more than what TRaci has posted...but if i were to take a long shot guess i would go with syncope, or passing out from too rapid inhalation...The murmur coul;d aggrevate the situation..I have had St. Bernards pass out similarly with no problem with a heart murmur...they inhale too much air and the body says that is morethanI needed and shuts down...I think the ekg and other tests might help but don;t be surprised if nothing more occurs...I think you are going to have to slow the kid down a little...how???IO have no idea...but wait till all the final results are in...Just A guesws I would suepect it will not happen again if the pup decides that excitement is not the way to go...when that will happen, I have no idea...some dogs never (like some people) act thier age...you might consider some sed ative pills to slow thekid down....but again it couls be heart relateed and that should be controlled but hyper excitabilty is another problem...keep posting and keep us updated.

Too rapid inhalation? Wow, know what I just thought? Last night Huey was sleeping and snoring...he can snore pretty bad sometimes - he often will wake himself up. Anyway, he was snoring and after a rather loud and deep snore he made a very deep, quick inhale. Then.....he sort of woke up and started breathing really fast for about 15 seconds....I think it was a sort of a syncope episode. His feet did not more. He raised his head a little while the rapid breathing was going on and he did urinate during this episode. I wonder if the snoring he was doing and the quick inhale after a really deep snore brought on this episode? He's having his x-rays and EKG this afternoon. I'll tell the vet about last night so it's on the record. But it sort of fits with what you described. He did this same thing one other time but I figured he was dreaming or something and the dream woke him up but now I'm wondering. Can one too quick inhale bring on syncope or does it have to be several breaths?
