Fire ~ Update and photos on 2nd page

Post by Tambrey »

REMEMBER THIS LINK WAS STARTED A YEAR AGO...I AM JUST UPDATING!!
A friend on another forum posted that her parents house burned lastnight...there was not much left to dig through and try to salvage, but friends and family are there helping as much as possible...

Their 2 cats were seen running from the house, so they know they are at least alive...are they injured?...they do not know...and these cats were of course indoor only so have no idea what they are doing outside...hding scared somewhere...

a fireman even brought a thermal imaging device after the fire was out so they could begin looking for the cats, but the battery died before they found them...

the family and friends are there today sorting through and putting what is salvagable into a semi trailer that someone brought for them to put things into...
people from church are gathering clothing to wash and bringing them clothing to wear and food to eat in the meantime, and a hotel is putting them up for now...
of course, insurance will not do anything until Monday

but so far, still no kitties

Please pray that they will be found safely and quickly and with no major harm or injuries to them...
and please pray for the family who is trying to recover and rebuild...her Mom, Dad and little sister lived there, along with the cats...the only shoes her dad had on was flipflops and he was trying to sort through rubble yesterday in those, and her Mom has a bad back and hip, but she kept working alongside them trying to find whatever memories she could...

Fire is my BIGGEST fear...I cannot imagine how they are feeling today...

My prayers that the kitties are found safe and sound...they are probably not far from the house, they should see about getting the neighbors' help in finding them/keeping a lookout.

thanks Traci...I am figuring they are not far and are just scared...hopefully someone will spot them and gently try to coax them out...but with so much comotion going on...that will be hard to do...

it was suggested also that when they are found and taken to the vet, that they are microchiped just for future identification if they should ever get outside again...hopefully not...

Sending some prayers that they will find the kitties. Fire scares me, too. Glad the family is safe, though.

this just in from my other forum
I usually don't post from work, but I'm breaking my silence to say

WE GOT A KITTY!! Very Happy She was captured and is now on the way to the emergency vet hospital with my sister to get checked over and make sure she's ok. Also, my Mom heard the other one this morning in the bushes, so we know he is close by also.

Thanks SO much for all your prayers ~ they're working!!

diagnosis on kitty#1 is singed whiskers and smoke inhalation...she is home now...well, with family...and doing great...top priority today is to capture and get kitty#2 to the vet, who is aware of the fire and situation and will be availabler whenever they capture him, no matter what the time!

But STILL no dkitty...there are fliers out all over, and neighbors have been calling in sightings, and yes there is a trap set with his favorite food. Last night they netted two very P.O.'ed raccoons, but no dkitty.
this is for the male kitty that was last heard in bushes nearby...but now cleanup crews are moving in to demolish and begin rebuilding...

Oh great....perhaps the family can ask them to assist in finding the kitty before they scare him into running completely away. Also try to note to them that late evening/night/early morning are good times to try to find him (but continue searching throughout the day of course).
