Dark spot on kitten's lip

I just noticed this spot on one of our kittens' lips this morning. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be or how serious it might be? I've noticed he's been drinking more water than usual today. He's about 8 weeks old. There are 5 other kittens in the same litter, and none of them have any spots on their lips.

Does this look like a growth or is it perhaps just skin pigmentation? Ruby, our Calico has many dark patches of skin inside her mouth that are just skin color variations related to her coloration. Our tabby cat also has some of this but not as marked. To be sure and have peace of mind, have your vet take a look.

Agree with Jim, it's difficult to tell in the pic. It could be pigmentation (like a freckle), but if it is raised in any way, it needs checked by your vet. Best to get peace of mind, get him seen by your vet promptly.
