... I've got a favor to ask you. My co-worker's wife has wanted a dog, and he considers himself more of a cat person, although he likes dogs a lot, and grew up with them. He got a report from his doctor that kind of scared him (high cholesterol, borderline high blood pressure). I told him he should get a dog, and start dog walking. He agreed that it might be time. I was wondering if any of you have links saved about the health benefits to humans of dog personhood. I know I've seen some, but didn't save any links. He loves Mr. Blue and his story, and doesn't care at all about pureness of breed or anything. I told him any questions or topics he wanted to talk about, I could probably find some resources for him, so what do I do?? I come here and ask you :D Seriously, any links or good sites you could pass my way will be greatly appreciated!

Mary, I don't have links handy at the moment, but you or he could do a simple net search for 'The Human-Animal Bond'....you'll find a wealth of resources.

...has all kinds of articles in it! I'm definitely going to pass this on to my co-worker. Or, better yet, I'm going to take a look at these and print out the best!

A friend of a friend of mine has written a book about how his dog helped him to heal from a major illness - he now takes his dog to hospitals to help others, too. He has a Bernese mountain dog - wonderful animal! His website is at http://www.nose-to-nose.com.

Animals are a major source of sleep problems. I'll agree to that.
