BUT, we may have a solution that will work for everyone
I was going to talk to the vet about giving me a big discount, and then talk to the town to see if they would go half, and we could get one or two spayed/neutered each month to begin to control population in town...
But...hubby was asked to bring them into the 20th century...hahaha..because they still do not have any computers and do all records by hand!!....
He was there lastnight discussing their needs/wants etc and will go this weekend with the head vet and get the equipment and cabling all needed to set up computers in office and even one downstairs...and get them up and running...he will also do a remote network with that vet from home so he can log in to the office computers when someone invariabely calls him at home on a weekend or evenign asking about a rabies tag number or whatever...
he will be able to access all critter records from home, so he is quite excited about that!!
He has a bout 1300 human clients, from over the years and current ones....and who knows HOW many critters...that will ALL need typed into the system...hubby suggested my mom to do that and she could use the money she would get from that...
BUT...hubby is going to ask that instead of paying him money, that he spays one or two of these ferals each month...or we have 4 females that we KNOW we want to get spayed right away...that will immediately cut down on the kitten boom!!..and then the tom cats that come from who knows where then never leave will also stop coming around...
