Winnie and the truck

Post by Marty »

I usually keep my DH's truck to take Win to the Vet, as it is lower than my Jeep and easier to get her into. All was fine until after our visit, and I went to open the back door..something snapped and the door wouldn't open.

Sigh, so I took her around to the other side and told her she would have to be a good girl and sit beside me in the front (it is only a 3 minute drive). She gave me a look as to say "Mom we don't do it this way, and I am not gonna." So I picked up her front paws, put them in the truck, and lifted her rump in. We got home, and she wouldn't get out, so we did the reverse. Not spoiled in the least... :)

DH checked his truck out, and it is a stupid little plastic piece which broke, and can easily be replaced.

Aw! That's so cute! Aren't they just like this, though? Hating changes in routine - dogs and cats and some of us people. The other day, in a huge hurry to get to work, DD left the rear of the pickup shell open. The old plastic stool she carried for getting her dogs and her mom up into the Dodge Ram was lost. Used to be you could buy one of those little stools at any supermarket, but no more (part of globalization I guess! 8) ) So DottyMama feels like your Winnie did: "NO! I ain't gonna scramble up into your stupid old truck that way!" So far DD hasn't lifted me in - she goes to the store for me. Hope she doesn't see this thread!

That's a thought...wonder if Win would cooperate with a stool. Don't they have them at home improvement stores? Then maybe I could keep my Jeep! I have seen those ramps, but they are super expensive.
