Kitty...kitty...

Post by Avalorm »

A neighbor gave a cat to us when they were moving away, they said she hasn't been eating for the past few days (she was very skiny when we got her)

the following week she started throwing up the food we have been feeding her...we thought she might just be nervous at time...but then today she started acting really strange...

I saw the cat lying down on the balcony, I went out there and sat beside her petting her, she didn't even move at all so I was kinda worried...I picked her up and brought her inside, when I put her on the grownd she looked very weak when she attempted to walk...not even being able to support her own weight...she hasn't eaten anything today at all and can barly stand up.

Should I take her to a vet? or would I be able to treat her at home?

This is an EMERGENCY!!. Get your cat to the vet NOW. This cat is very ill, and we have no way of telling what is wrong on the internet. Only the vet will be able to determine what is wrong. A cat who is not eating is in dire danger. Go NOW.

This is sorta a problem...the local vets are not open yet, is there anything that can be done in the meantime?

Hopefully by now you've gotten her to a vet???

Please, get a full blood profile done for her, she may have organ disfunction (liver or kidney etc), and heed your vet's advice, if caught early, there are effective treatments available to manage these conditions.

Why would the owner just give up their kitty, did they even bother to give you her health history, etc? Shame on them for not getting her seen by their vet when they knew she wasn't eating!

I'm so sorry, how tragic for this poor kitty.

Safe and gentle journey, sweet Kitty...
