(I hope) for the next few months...

This little one was born around noonish today...Mom's second litter and she walked away from them as well...actually, she smothered one and this one was still in the planter that she gave birth to them in...I don't know if she walked off somewhere else and had more, but she never returned for this one, so around 4 or so, I brought it in and am bottle feeding...so far so good...it struggles a bit with the bottle, but once it gets it figured out, it suckles hard for about 30 seconds then falls asleep...

I am a bit concerned about the right rear foot...it seems almost like a club foot...but also could be how it was laying inside the momma, so I am hoping it will straighten out as it grows and gets stronger...I can use my fingers and make it lay as it should, but it curls right back again...

Strong little bugger too!!...It climbs up my hand and all over the little teddy bear I put in there for it!!

Let's just pray it continues to be strong...I only have one to feed and care for, so that should help...

got my kitchen timer and the longest I can set it for is 99:59 so that is when I will be getting up in the night!!

Awww.. I hope he does well. You've given him the perfect kind of friend. I had a kitten who had trouble giving up the nursing habit, and he loved stuffed animals like that with the little tufts. So hopefully the little guy will get some comfort there. Good luck for the next (many) nights!

Looks like a little cutie. Gray tabby? Maybe you can listen to see if you hear any others mewing nearby? I know it's a long shot - especially if they were born yesterday. I just know I'd have to try if I were in the same situation.

Good luck! Keep us posted with updates and pics as he grows. Any thougts of a name? (Maybe Lucky?)

Maybe it's just the pic, but he looks older than just a day old?

Can you get him seen by your vet? He may be able to determine if the paw has an infection or if this is edema or something else.

nope...he was born yesterday around noon...I know that because I had seen the momma around and she had definitely been pregnant....and the other one that she smothered still had its sac partially around it and was wet and soft feeling...

I am going to take him (her?) in today to get weighed and checked so I know where we are and how much to be feeding etc...so far he has been taking maybe 1-2 teaspoons every couple of hours and seems content with that, but I want to make sure it is enough

So far so good...the little bugger is healthy and hungry all the time...it has figured out the bottle and sucks down near to 2 teaspoons of KMR every couple of hours...if I make more, I toss it, so right now that is all I make each feeding...
the first two days, it was passing muconium, and yesterday there were a couple of soft formed stools in the box with it...but nothing yet since then...just clear urine I am supposing since I wipe and stimulate but there is no colour on the tissue...but it is defintelt wetter when I am done!

I was not...the small animal vet was not in, and I did not want to take it to the horse vet!!...but we will be going there before work today...the kitten goes to work with me...I cleared that......we will be there right when the vet office opens back from lunch and before I have to be at work at 1:30...so can let you know then what he says about the foot and weight and all that fun stuff...the foot does inhibit its movement a bit as it cannot get a good foothold to move properly

Then after the vet checks it out today, I can take it in every day or two and get it weighed on their scale to make sure it is gaining at a good rate...they don't charge for that after an initial visit...

Good to hear. Ask the vet to check for punctures, abcess, etc from hip to paw pads...hopefully it's nothing serious.
