Cat Litter problem with dust!!
Cat Litter problem with dust!!
My Honeybun has been sneezing and I have to wipe dust from her nose lately. I use Scoop Away unscented but it seem dustier than ever.
Any suggestions I am at my wits end trying to find the perfect non dusty litter. I am not sure she would go for the Pearls ( too hard). Is the S'wheatscoop dusty?
Any help and/ experience and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thankyou,
Mona and Honeybun
P.S. I will post pics soon, new computer and just learning all.

Re: Cat Litter problem with dust!!
Mona, are you sure the sneezing is from the litter? Maybe talk to your vet and make absolutely certain it isn't from another health issue.
Don't have any advice about the litter, I'm a tidycat diehard. But if you feel you don't want to change the brand, maybe take a spray bottle and mist it slightly right after you've changed the box.

Yes it when she was in the box, but she is going for a physical shortly. Thanks for the tip about the water. Mona

Hi Mona, I (and Kobi) don't find S'weatscoop to be dusty at all - there are no clouds of dust when scooping it out. It does track a bit, though I don't know of a litter that doesn't. The best part is it's flushable...

Re: Cat Litter problem with dust!!
Mona...I use Feline Pine, but if honeybun doesn't like hard litter then she might not use it. Once they use it the pellets fall apart and become like soft shavings. I haven't had a problem with dust using it. I got so frustrated with all the clay litters I just gave up totally. I know only use the pine stuff and the crystals (not the mix, just the pure silica crystals). I've also tried beet pulp, it's sort of soft, but I didn't care for the barnlike smell of it I might give it another try this winter in my garage boxes, but won't use it in the inside boxes again.

I am frustrated with the clay mixtures too!! I may try the litter pearls or the Feline Pine. you never know at least it is not dusty. Thanks, Mona

Re: Cat Litter problem with dust!!
Mona - Yes the formula has changed. I switched to the "Scoop Away Plus Crystals" and found it not dusty. Tidy Cat with Crystals was good also... I can't use anything flushable here, as it stinks immediately - something I feed them, I guess.
Re: Cat Litter problem with dust!!
I will try the blended ones with the pearls, I hate the dust and she does too!~ Thanks
Re: Cat Litter problem with dust!!
If it helps, Arm and Hammer makes a clumping cat litter that is supposed to be 99% dust free. Odorless too.
Happy Days for HOneybun and her litter! Pls read!!
I bought the Tidy CAT with crystals and no dust at all. It clumps very, very well, and we are all happy. I love it, and Honeybun got a new box out of the deal too. I thought well new litter, new box. It is a wonderful box with a lid that stores the scooper, liners and filter.
Thanks Traci and everyone. Tidy Cat is the winner. Mona and HOneybun
