Mr. Blue would like to invite all the dogs...msg

Post by Mary Plummer »

...who frequent this board to come help him in a big project this weekend! The rabbits are getting out of hand around here, and the people are too unwilling (more like incapable, according to him) to deal with the problem of these evil furry demons. This afternoon was the last straw for him. When we headed out the door for our after-work walk, there was a rabbit who had the nerve to be sitting on his front porch! He wants all dogs to know that his Mama makes really good chicken/cheddar biscuits and homemade liver bread, so there will be plenty of treats! I'm protesting this - it's Friday night and I don't feel like baking, but he's pretty sure he can talk me into it :D He's thinking it will be a good service, all the dogs will have fun dealing with this problem, and he'd really like to meet all of them!

Sorry guys - I know this is goofy, but it's been a long hard week!

Mary- that's why I like you and Mr. Blue- that great goofiness! Honey would gladly help Mr. B chase rabbits. Mind you- when she gets close she backs off...so she is not a getter, only a chaser. But if he needs her on the team...count us in! (She says the biscuits sound good, too!)

Mr. Blue gladly accepts Honey's help! Chasing them away...

...would be fine with him! Oh oh...he's insisting on me pointing out how mean I am, and that I never let him eat what he gets anyway. This is definitely true; I am a big ol' meanie :D As far as my online goofiness - can I blame Davet for that?? Just don't tell my hubby; he would say it existed long before I started talking dogs on the boards!

I'm afraid mine would be totally useless. Angel would be going from person-to-person looking for petting and thereby making all the other dogs jealous. (Now if it were birds, she'd be happy to help - she has a "thing" about birds!). Allie would just be barking at everyone, and Mickey, bless his ancient heart, is beyond useless. A couple of years ago he would be trying to herd them all into a circle for the other dogs to go after, but now, he couldn't care less about anything other than a full bowl of food and a soft bed!

Prince and Apache would love to come! Prissy hasn't chased a rabbit in years and neither has Ginger or Kaiser, but they would love to teach the youngsters a thing or two about it. The puppers have never chased a rabbit, but would love to learn. Dottie does not care to leave her sofa, and inky won't go without her. Freckles and Sweet Pea would love the ride, as long as there is a cool shady nook for them to nap in. Coco and Mr. Dawg won't leave Mama, but will come if she does.

All dogs, and their people, are invited!...

k9Karen and the Skeptic, don't worry about the older dogs. Mr. Blue is promising away our couch, his blue dog pillow, and even our bed to any dog who needs to take it easy rather than hunt :D Davet, Sassie is definitely welcome! Mr. Blue says to tell her that rabbits are a lot easier than squirrels. Skeptic, Mr. Blue would love to help teach the pups about rabbit hunting, and he says your hounds are definitely needed to help. He's a bit of a dog snob - not like people are, of course. He doesn't care at all about being pure-bred, or obedience, but he DOES feel that hound dogs are really called for here. However, all dogs should be outraged, and all have skills to contribute! All the people are welcome, too, but I think we'll have to order out for pizza (unless we want to share the liver bread - YUCK!) My husband has asked me to pass along his thanks to all of you - as long as I'm goofy here, he says he gets a break :D He also reverted to his southern Indiana twang when I told him about all of this, saying "Wummin, you better git yourself to the store and buy a whole cart of liver and chicken. Land a Goshen!"

What a gorgeous pic! Mr. Blue would love their help, and...

...he's pretty sure they won't refuse the treats after a hard day's work :D I just got back from a walk with him, and we saw 4 rabbits out and about - 2 in our neighborhood and 2 in the meadow above our park. Mr. Blue is sure all dogs everywhere are outraged by this!
