Diaheria Problem, Again

Post by Beleriphon »

Hi all, Fizgig seems to have his diaheria problem again. Its exactly like last time. There have been no food changes, or anything else. I just suddenly started last night. Part of his stool was normal, followed by a mass of the soft clay like stool, but more like right before it went back to normal last time as well. The only change that has occured is that I got a new chinchilla about a week ago. I also cleaned his water bowl yesterday, so I suppose there might be some detergent left in the bowl, but I rinsed it out so I don't know.

This concerns me and I do plan on taking him to the vet as soon as possible. There have been no behaviour changes, in fact as I type this Fiz is running around playing with a catnip mouse.

Is he completely on the Iams now?

Does he seem stressed about the new chinchilla, and/or are you giving the chinchilla more attention?

I strongly advise you get a fecal exam done promptly.

I'm not giving the chins any more attention than I was before. I making it more of a point that if he pokes at them through the cage I make sure that he leaves them alone.

And since I just called the vet, they are of course closed today and tomorrow for the Victoria day long weekend in Canada. So that means that I need to call on Tuesday.
