Well, it was a bittersweet day today...Baby Kitty, a gray tabby who is about a year old, and a yet un-named boy tabby, beautiful with white feet and white on his face, went to a new home today...
A person whom I have not spoken with in about a year (persona issues there) sent an e-mail a couple of months ago that her daughter and BF were looking for a couple of cats after they got settled into their new home...
She brought her daughter to our house today...and the daughter sat for about an hour playing with all the cats, including the 3 kittens that were born in October to the mom with the broken pelvis...
Baby Kitty took right to her, as did most of our other cats...even ones who usually hide from people went to her...I was impressed...she knew right away when she was Baby Kitty that she wanted her...but had a hard time choosing someone else to go with her, but kept looking at the beautiful boy tabby and finally chose him, he is one of Snickers babies from October...
She has worked at vet offices for the past 3 years now, so I know she loves her animals and will take good care of them...she is only 19, but mature beyond her years...graduated high school in 3 years instead of 4, was always on the honor roll and #1 dance squad...plus worked at the vet's office and also a cashier at a discount store...
Now they have a baby and their own home and 2 dogs and want to add to their family with a couple of cats...
She already has lots of toys and a bed and litterbox and food already set out for them...and her BF is making a climbing perch/scatching post today out of carpet remnants and wood...
I also sent her home with a small bag of what they have been eating here and she will mix that with what she got from her vet, and a dose of Frontline for each one as flea and tick season is nearing...
I told her if for any reason something does not work out, to please let me know and I will take them or whichever one, back...
Sooo...please just say a quick little prayer that they are happy and settle into their new home fine...you know how much I love all these kitties and how hard it is to let them go...but as long as I KNOW they are going to a good loving home, I am okay with that...and sicne I get to choose if I let them go or not, I feel okay with it...but it is still hard...
Funny thing...my DS15 was not home when they got here, and my mom said he was worried the whole time they were gone hoping that they made it home before the people left, because he wanted to be here when they picked their kitties so his favourite one(s) would not be taken...
He is up laying on his bed moping now...

Re: Two Cats Find A New Home
I hope you can keep in touch with the girl who adopted them. Do you know anything about their dogs??

Re: Two Cats Find A New Home
Yes, I have met Dippy, and she is fine with cats as she was always around the cats at home (before the girl moved out on her own now)...the other one, I don't know...but I am sure she will keep the cats safe and do slow introductions...
