The price isn't a problem, I can even get a discount since I have cable tv. But, the room I plan to install the cable is going under renovation soon, and I want that done beforehand.

The DSL location was nearby, that wasn't the problem per se, there just seemed to be a compatabiity problem with my pc. Nothing new, my pc is crap

that was too cute!! You might want to warn people that there was some questionable content at that sight (to the right where it said "popular videos this week"..the fun in thongs video)

I'd give anything to have cable again...unfortunately it isn't available where I'm at...neither is DSL. After 4 months of dialup we got fed up and got satellite internet through Wild Blue. It's much faster than dialup, but not as fast as cable *sigh*...it'll have to do though 8)

You need to learn the tricks to dialup.

Click on the link, minimize the window when it appears then restore it when the sound starts!

Thats hardly uncommon, because of the way DSL works it breaks the bandwidth with each connection. Cable does not do that, but the output is slowed by each connection going, and downloading large files can affect the input.

Anyhoo, Cable is the way to go if you're using a router for multiple computers.

As for the video, its funny.

When I was trouble-shooting the DSL, it wasn't a connection problem, rather a crash-my-pc problem. I could surf the net with little problem, but my desktop hung constantly and if I tried to access my desktop, my system crashed. I could also not use programs with it at all (like simple IM). Router was tested, connection was tested, pc was tested, everything else was tested. No resolution. Out of frustration, I ditched it.
