Hello everyone,
It really should be Friday today Instead, it's Thursday and raining here in Michigan today. Not thunderstorms yet, but a steady downpour-type rain. When I took Mr. Blue out this morning, I realized yet again how far he's come. It used to be that he was almost afraid to go out in the rain. I always imagined this was because he remembered being stuck outside in it during his time as a stray. He doesn't like water, but he goes outside willingly to do his business now. In fact, this morning he wanted to do a normal block-length walk in the rain, with plenty of stops to sniff. I can't help but feel that, with time, he's realized that he doesn't have to be afraid of getting stuck out in the rain anymore; that he always gets to come inside and gets praised a ton by me for being such a big brave boy. I'm very pleased about this; I really felt mean taking him out for his business when he was so nervous about it.
A little "I'm so proud of Mr. Blue" ramble....

That's great!...
I wish my old girl would improve a bit faster on this score... This time of year here in the sub tropics (more "tropic" than "sub" we often say LOL) T storms and/or squalls off Lake Pontchartrain occur almost every afternoon... one would think a dog could get acclimated (so to speak) but what seems to happen with Win is we have a dry winter and spring, and she sings the old song "It ain't gonna rain no more."
She is a lot better about thunder than she used be but still LOATHES rain... Odd thing in my household, however: recently Q Kitty has become freaky about thunder storms, too. He is 9 years of age now, healthy in all respects... what do you think would cause this? Does your cat seem to pick up behavior patterns from the dog? I suspect this may be happening with my pets...

You know, it sure seems like they could pick things up....
....like that from each other! B oth Mr. Blue and our cat Carmel really don't like thunderstorms at all. In their cases, though, I think they each picked it up on their own from their stray days.

Cool stuff, Mary - Roxy never liked to take the first step into the rain but she did, she could and would stay in it as long as possible - even jumped rain gutters while in her cart.

When they first came here, Freckles, Inky and Dottie would whine and cry when it rained. Now they only get upset if there is a severe storm.
Sheba when we first got her would climb on the furniture when the thunder started. By the time she passed away she barely acknowledged the storms. ..
Unfortunately I have no pics of Sheba on Club Photo.
