cat peed in sons shoes!

first off no theres no urinary infection in the cat, he is healthy and the litter box was cleaned. our son has a fav cat and they hang out all the time, the love is mutual. a month ago i noticed a strong urine smell by the back door and couldnt figure it out until i smelled my sons shoes and they stunk!!! the cat had peed in his shoes!! we arent sure why but is it normal for a cat to mark the territory of the one they love? he is neutured btw.

Since you assume it happend a month ago, the question is, has it happend again, in other places? When was his last vet exam?

no it hasnt happened anywhere else that we know of just in his fav persons shoes...he was examined 3 wks ago he is fine.

If he was stresed for some reason, then yes, it would stand to reason he would urinate on some personal item. If it hasn't happened since, then probably nothing to worry about.
