Spring Cleaning

Post by Tambrey »

Well...it is that time of year again when our furkids are shedding all over the house...I am vacuuming the furniture and floors every day!!...

a few of our cats like to be vacuumed, but the only attachment I have that is close for brushing them is the upholstery one, and the fur sticks to it something awful...so I decided to search online...I found that for about $10 I can get a pet hair specific attachment for my vacuum cleaner...the attachment has the little rubber teeth on two pivoting heads to really get the loose fur out...
Maybe I will have to get that next week!...here is the link for anyone else with pets...it says it comes with adaptors to fit most any vacuum...

I get all my vacuum cleaner parts from this place online...they are the cheapest I have found for my Filter Queen.

And by getting this...it will be used for the cats only, and not on the furniture as well...

Tambrey- let me know how it works if you get it. Honey isn't too keen on getting vacuumed. I take her out on the deck to brush her...she is so funny - she looks at me and howls in protest, but then compliantly comes over to get groomed.

I will let you know if I get it...we have a canister type vacuum, so the noisy part is further away from them...not all the cats like to be vacuumed, but some do, which helps...especially since one sheds alot all the time, and the other is my long haired siamese mix...

Ahhhh - vacuums --- Foxy heads for the hills; Angel couldn't care less and needs to be booted out of the way, and Allie is oblivious! In fact, the first sign I had that Allie was deaf is the way she reacted to the vacuum - she thought it was a great toy to chase around the room!

Does that attachment come in 'super size' for long haired furballs with extreme undercoats (AKA Shelties)?

hhmmm...not sure about long haired supersized...I need to look at the budget after DH gets paid tomorrow and see if I can get it this time, or need to wait til next payday...I will let you know how long the rubber tips really are...

our cats are all different with the vacuum as well...so far Gypsy, Gump and Baby Kitty don't mind it at all...Cuddles and a couple others will look at it, not run away, but not let me near them with it either...and then there are some who head upstairs as soon as I turn it on!!
