... Obviously.
We've been back since Sunday, but I haven't really felt like sitting down and typing anything up. Still very jet lagged, hard to get back on schedule.
California was gorgeous! I didn't expect it to be as mountainous as it was, but I'm glad for it. I had never seen mountains before, so I took a TON of pictures. It was beautiful. So was the Pacific, which I hadn't seen before. I very much love the ocean.
Izzy ended up staying home for the first two days, but then Amy took her over to her apartment since Izzy seemed terribly lonely. There, Izzy and Hoochie spent one day batting and hissing at each other, but ended up sleeping curled around each other that night! So much for cats needing weeks to acclimate; not those two! Izzy was fine the whole time, though she was rather clingy to Amy. Amy brought her back here Saturday night, and we were home a few hours later.
As soon as she saw that it was us, she climbed up onto the top of the couch where she could be closer to eye level, and just purred and nuzzled and climbed all over us, and the three of us had a long session of kitty cuddling. It was obvious that she had missed us. And she was so good while she was here, too! She didn't even so much as knock over the trash can! I was amazed (and half-convinced it wasn't my cat, LOL).
Since then, I've been home with her during the day, and she is ten times more affectionate. I don't know if it'll wear off, but I hope it doesn't. It really seems like she's actually bonded with me. For instance, I'll kneel on the floor and put my head down on my arms, then chirp for her, and she'll come scampering over and nuzzle her whole body around my head. Or if I'm sitting on the couch and I chirp, she'll come running and jump right in my arms and curl up there. If she's in the other room, I'll let her know I'm coming, and instead of being skittish and hiding, she'll look around for me, then come right to me. And if I walk past her, I can put my hand down and she'll stick her hand under my head instead of shying away.
I went looking for her a bit ago, and she was napping on my side of the bed with her head on my pillow. So I cooed at her and layed down, and she snuggled right up under my chin. OH, and I even clipped her nails last night with absolutely no incident! In fact, she was purring and nuzzling me while I was clipping them! She's gone from being a rambunctious terror to being the sweetest, most loving kitten I've ever seen. We just sit for hours together on the floor, playing, cuddling, "talking." My husband thinks I've gone nuts because the cat and I have conversations.
I loved California, but I'm so glad to be home, and I love this kitten to death!
Back from vacation.

Re: Back from vacation.
This is how she's been snuggling with me lately, lol. Two paws hugging my arm, head in my hand, purring like a boat motor until she drifts off to sleep.
