Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
I got one today, and it is working wonderfully! Whether the spots come back or not, remains to be seen, but I am happy with it so far. Much easier on the back, too!
Re: Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
Was wondering how that worked, Marty. But when the carpet gets wet does is smell worse...is there a special deoderizing pet shampoo you can buy for it that eliminates that?
Re: Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
I used Hoover's Pet Odor and Stain Remover with enzymes (bought at my local home improvement store). It did seem to take the odor away.
I got the SpotBot because the belt broke on my steam clener, have to order a new one, but am having company tomorrow. Am tentatively thinking the SpotBot works better.

I take all that back...after it dried, it didn't look so great. Think I am going to have to look at new flooring options. We have a LR/DR combo, so maybe we can just replace the DR carpet with wood or laminate.
Maybe the SpotBot will be handy for occasional upchucks or fresh stains, but I guess it won't be good for the old set-in stains. This makes my house sound like a filthy mess....it's not...just that one area where Bisc used when she had a UTI.

sorry it did not work for you Party
be careful with wood as well...if urine soaks in, it is a bugger to try to get the smell out...every time humidy rises, I still hafve trouble spots in my old house...
my husband and I are looking into a new flooring, especially for the basement, bathroom and kitchen...it is called Fiberfloor
but they also have patterns that look like a berber carpet...or wood flooring...or tile...it is great stuff...there is one store in our area taht carries it...and the price is no more than for a regular linoleum or tile...
There is no glue...no staples...just measure, cut and roll it out...fricton keeps it where it belongs...and if it ever does get wet, well, it is easily cleaned, but also, can be rolled up, taken outside to clean and dry...drythe floor underneath and bring it back in and roll it back out!
I came back to add that it also has a nice cushioned back, so it is soft to walk on...and it has varied guarantees from 5-10 years I think, based on which one you choose...

Re: Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
Thanks Tambrey...I'll take a look at that. The reason I was thinking about wood is that I think I would tend to notice a wet spot quicker on wood than carpet. I don't anticipate more accidents, but with 3 older dogs, you never know what the future will bring.
I have steam cleaned this carpet at least 10 times and had it done by the pros at Christmas...I think it has had it!

Re: Bissell SpotBot for pet accidents
IKWYM, Marty...this past summer, after steaming the carpet in the LR again...I finally got a kitchen knife and cut it into managable chunks and hauled it from the house...
our great dane was incontinent near the end, and then the beagle managed to sniff out the same areas and "treat" them again...then a couple cats decided to use those areas as well...grrrrr...non amount of steaming shampooing or spraying with enzymes seemed to totally get rid of it...so I gave up!!
