Q is one of the prettiest, sweetest looking cats I've ever seen. What a sweet face!

About Q: When my son arrived "in the nick of time" at the Lamar-Dixon Center in Gonzales LA, the way he knew for sure Q was Q was by the big, round, golden eyes! Q is still very, very shy with other people, but at home with me he is a wonderful character - he 'talks'... At night he likes to have a pillow right by my head (not good for my allergies!) and is not afraid of dogs - after all, he helped raise a German shepherd! Yesterday I opened a window here by the desk to talk to a friend who was walking her little poodle, Timmy. Timmy likes me and kept jumping up to the screen... all at once Q hopped onto the sill and looked at the dog... no shyness at all because he knew perfectly well the woman couldn't get to him through the window, and that the other guest was just a dog  But turns out Timmy had never seen a cat up close... he backed away from the window with a yelp, while Q just sat there gazing down... Too funny! The neighbor and I wished we had a video camera...

About Pinto: Last fall the PetsMart near here had several Katrina cats... I must say the folks in this part of Texas have been great: the shelters and vet clinics sent people to New Orleans to help, and homes were found in this area for many animals. Pinto I don't know about - he came from a shelter in the town of Elgin, a few miles from here. He is just under 1 year and had only been neutered a few days before I got him. The reason I took to him is that he is obviously a house-trained "people" cat. He is so sweet and affectionate... likes to be carried around on one's shoulder like a baby; he also would sleep right by me if Q would let him. (They do pretty well together for the most part although the play gets a bit rambunctious at times - this is easing off now that they're getting settled.) Here is a pic I took the day after he arrived - he had his head ON the book until the camera got close LOL...

They are both beauties...bet they will become good buddies. I always thought cats do better with 2 of them. We always had 2. Pinto is a cute name for him. Keep the pictures coming!

PS- looks like the turtle was giving him an earful :P

Q looks great. Looks like he was not traumatized by Katrina. We have had some dogs and cats that would freak out everytime there was a thunderstorm here.
