Hi all!
Because there was a cat who died of the bird flu virus in the North of Germany the media as well as the politicians thought it's a good idea to spread a bit of panic. While I agree to keeping cats indoors, the proposed permission to shoot by one minister just pisses me off.
The newspapers, mainly the tabloids but others as well, seem to create more confusion than helping matters. Everybody says something else about how the virus can be transferred to humans, which kinds of birds can and were infected etc etc. Out of this panic fear grew and has lead to many people bringing their cat to shelters!
Oh MAAANNN!! Can you believe that?
The shelters are saying they are expecting many more cats to be brought in
Sad greetings from
Ash

Ash, you could help by providing the media, the shelters, the clinics, etc, with information from the sites from the World Health Organization, the CDC and veterinary organizations to help them understand the threats are minimized if these people knew the facts instead of relying on scares.

I don't think this type of media is interested in spreading the truth. They are interested in selling papers and "Creating News," no matter who or what it hurts.Traci wrote:Ash, you could help by providing the media, the shelters, the clinics, etc, with information from the sites from the World Health Organization, the CDC and veterinary organizations to help them understand the threats are minimized if these people knew the facts instead of relying on scares.
