bine digestion

Post by hayleym72 »

I had a thought and wondered what the info is i could get on this. when i see my dog or other dogs with bones sometimes they swallow them whole instead of waiting to chew them down more. i cant possibly see how they could pass these but people are always giving dogs bones and dogs are always swallowing them!

they have a pretty stong digstive system and usually oonce the bone gets past the throat they are OK but occaisionally one gets stuck on the roof of the mouth, , the throat and at the valves of the stomach..it is a pretty dangerous procedure..i would rather see dogs chew chicken bones than t-bone , ribs etc...i think the people who con5t6inually feed bones are looking for trouble....

You didn't mention whether you were talking about cooked bones or not, but for anyone who may be lurking...cooked bones should never be given. They get brittle with cooking, and may splinter...dangerous!
