green tongue??

Post by firemuse »

My 6 month old kitten has a big green spot on her tongue! Its the same color as green mold and it is not at the tip, but back a bit further.

Its about this long [----------]

and this wide [----]

What is it????

I should take her to the vet soon but I want to see what you guys think it might be.

She has all of her shots, an indoor cat, and I feed her good food and clean water. She doesn't seem sick at all.............but I dont think this is normal, is it??

What has she eaten recently? Do you have plants in your home? (if yes, keep them away from the cats)

Rule of thumb, when in doubt, see your vet.

I had an older cat get a similar blue spot on her tongue. It turned out that for some reason she was eating the blue deodorizing crystals in her cat litter. She wasn't getting sick but we changed litter after seeing our vet & figuring out what was causing it.
