Goodbye, Ruby. I'll always miss and love you.
Goodbye, Ruby. I'll always miss and love you.
My small black cat Ruby, who was staying with my in-laws, disappeared in October 2005 from Natick, MA. I called the nearby vets, shelters, and Animal Control and I posted fliers with Ruby's picture. No one has seen her. Now, four months later, my husband and friends tell me that I need to accept that Ruby is most likely no longer alive. I am so sad because I never got to say goodbye to her and tell her what a good friend she was to me, and I'll never know how she met her end. I am very depressed and I have nightmares every night. I hope she is at peace.

I always advise owners with lost pets to always physically visit their shelters every day...since shelters cannot possibly monitor every single animal that comes through it's doors.
It wouldn't hurt to re-post flyers to all the clinics, etc, as well as put a lost&found ad in your local newspaper (you'll need to ask the paper to republish the ad every few days). Be as thorough in your descriptions as possible.
It's also entirely possible your kitty was taken in by a caring person, but regardless, re-post your flyers, etc.
In the future, or if you have other cats, please, read Indoors ONLY.
