`Eowyn of Colmar - one of the von Rombach shepherds, born Memorial Day 27 May 1997 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Died suddenly late this afternoon, 1 February 2006 in Austin, Texas.
Raining in Austin, which is unusual... I was at a shopping center, was going to stop by daughter's house but had to go back to buy an umbrella and decided to come on over to my apartment complex. Just as I got home, Nan called - she had come home to find Winnie lying on the floor of a bathroom, gasping for breath... by the time I got back in my car and drove the couple of miles over there, Winnie was gone.
We are all still in shock. Vet gave us the basics of the post mortem... sarcoma of the spleen, advanced, not unusual to have no prior symtoms. I may post more on that later... Winnie will be cremated and her ashes will go with those of the wonderful white cat Xanth... Q and I will join them later. We plan to run through a few billion stars after we meet at the Rainbow Bridge...
The picture was the last of Win at Thorn Castle, our house in Lakeview... Everything in this picture is gone now... the painting, the futon sofa which they don't sell any more, the lamp... which was one of a pair husband got in Cleveland in '75 (its mate was on a table a few feet away...) and now the dog.
