hopefully when Traci comes on, she will be able to help with what the vet wrote, and give you some more suggestions to as the vet...

I pray that Trouble gets better soon...if it is pneumonia...did the vet send you home with Clavamox to give her 2 times a day?...that would help alot...that is what I gave my little bitty kitten when she got pneumonia...I am pretty sure that is what the vet sent home with us...it was almost 2 years ago now...

Please keep us posted...

I remember too, when mine had pneumonia, the vet told me to keep her in an enclosed place and give her a bed made with bath towels or baby blankets, the smooth kind, not knitted....and tuck soda bottles fillwed with hot water under the towels, making sure that they would not roll out and burn the kitten...and change the bottles about every 2 hours to keep it warm in the nest...

I got a box big enough to hold soda bottles all the way around, and still room for a kitten and her brother...and kept those bottles changed out and it nice and toasty warm in there....I also draped a towel ofver the top to help hold the arm moist heat in...it helps loosen the congestion in the lungs....

I am going to advise again, do NOT give any baby aspirin, period. Also, I find it strange that your vet sent you to the store for baby aspirin, but did she bother to tell you what brand, what mg? Aspirin is rarely ever given to cats, unless it is for a certain heart condition, in which it would require a very specific dosage, since if not given correctly, can cause anemia, hemorrhage and fatal bleeding. Asprin is NOT prescribed in cats with urinary tract infections! Nor, to my knowledge, is it ever prescribed for lung infections..there are other medications more appropriate for both conditions.

The procedures noted tell me nothing. You need to find out what your vet found on the urinalysis. She told you kitty had a urinary tract infection, but did not tell you if there was a concern for crystals. You need to find that out immediately. If kitty was crying out in pain at any time during urination, this could indicate crystals or a blockage, and your vet needs to address this IMMEDIATELY. Blockages, or crystals that are blocking normal urine flow can be fatal, so if your kitty is still crying out while urinating, you need to get her your vet or an emergency vet right away.

Your vet needs to tell you what she suspects with the lungs. If there is lung congestion, she needs to rule out bacterial infection, vs fungal infection, vs pneumonia vs asthma, etc.

If your vet isn't telling you any of these things, you need to get your kitty to a more experienced vet, period, and right away! Ask your parents to go with you, so they can help you understand what the vet is doing, etc. Be prepared for a new urinalysis and x-ray, since your vet may be missing something, or, she may be failiing to diagnose correctly. And again, do NOT give any baby aspirin!

She told me to give her baby aspirin from 80 mg. I didnt give her any if she was trying to throw up and i saw white form so i barely give her any so I thought that is not good and i refuse to give her any. Oh my god I cant belive that vet didnt tell me that much she just told me to give her med and aspirin and to come back when med is done. Is there anything that I should not give her like food or wet food can cause it? I have clean litter box every day and i just dont understand why it came back. I may have not heard her what wrong with trouble cuz i am deaf i just remember her telling me that she has haze lung and she think it might be allergies and that she have UTI and trouble is in alot of pain and to give her baby aspirin 80 mg. Do you think i should stay the vet or i should take her to Cat only vet? I will call her and ask her to explain and hopefully it will be open because they closed on sat, sunday. I will update soon.

At this point, I would ask her ALOT of questions...write them all down as you think of them so you do not forget...as Traci suggested, have your parents, or at least one, go along to help interpret between you and the vet...write what the vet says, or ask her to write every test result and diagnosis out for you...

If the vet suspects crystals, what kind, and yes, you will need to change the food you feed, based on the diagnosis of what is causing the UTI or blockage and pain that Trouble is having...

Please do not wait...get her in to SOMEONE ASAP...let us know what the vet says...

Prayers that Trouble's troubles will soon be resolved...

Yes, get kitty to a cat-only vet, RIGHT AWAY.

Once you've seen the new vet and have gotten an appropriate diagnosis, then call the first vet and demand to know why aspirin was prescribed for a urinary tract infection....she well knows there are safer, more appropriate medications for urinary tract infections. As I stated earlier, most inflammatory pain caused by infection can be resolved with antibiotics, NOT aspirin.

And again, she didn't tell you anything about the lungs, "hazy" only means the x-ray film was unusual, it could have been nearly anything, and it was incumbent upon her to explain in detail her suspicions or to address it with further diagnostics to diagnose it appropriately.

Get your parents to go with you to a new vet. And get kitty to a new vet IMMEDIATELY. (TODAY!)

Edit to add: Kitty also had a urinary tract infection in November, since this could be a re-occruing problem or persistent infection that wasn't treated appropriately the first time, get her to a new vet ASAP and ask for a urine culture to rule out infections that the antibiotics may not be responding to. Regardless, it's imperative she is seen immediately to rule out potential blockage.
