Please be warned that Kaopectate is "new and Improved"-NOT! It now has bismuth subsalicylate. The same stuff in Pepto! NOT good for kitties. Kim

Could you please provide some reference or a suitable, reputable link to this information? If this is heresay for example, this does not belong on this board.

Provide details and a reputable source, otherwise, we don't know what you're talking about. Kaopectate contains kaolin and pectin, if it has recently changed, I'm sure there are suitable warnings on the label.

My husband brought a new bottle home. I noticed right away that the bottle looked different. I am so glad I took the time to read the bottle. Right on the bottle it says "Now contains Salicylates. See new warnings." Kim

According to Pfizer's web site Kaopectate contains Bismuth subsalicylate.

It doesn't state when the formula was changed so it’s extremely important to read and check the label before purchasing or administering Kaopectate!

It must have changed sometime over the last year or so, because I have a bottle purchased last year and the active ingredient is Attapulgite
