OT: (sorry) Any Miami realtors here?

Post by Sara »

It's me Sara. I'm moving to Miami and was just wondering if any of my cat friends here were realtors. :)

Thanks!

Not a realtor, but I did live there for 2 years (25 years ago). I didn't particularly like it, but you may...what part of Miami are you considering?

We were in So. Dade, towards Cutler Ridge. The area was fairly nice, but wa-ay overpriced...I'm sure it's even worse now. We rarely went into Miami proper, as it was an hour away and you almost needed a bodyguard with you. I was impressed with the schools, though...at least ours. I found people to be very distrusting of newcomers, and my 5th grade daughter had a hard time making friends. Thank goodness for a friendly church!

Now I'm probably scaring Sara away. The atmosphere may have changed since then, though. Hurricane Andrew required much of that area to be rebuilt shortly after we left.

Sorry, not a realtor, and I'm in Central FL, not Miami-Dade. I don't think there's any area in Florida with higher real estate prices - hang on to your wallet!
