Normal Weight Range?

I was just wondering what the normal weight range was for cats. I am a first time cat owner so I'm not really sure what is a healthy range. My two cats are both 9 months. The male weighs 14.5 pounds and the female weighs 11 pounds.
A friend of mine has two cats who are a year and a half and they both weigh 5 pounds. So I wasn't sure if my cats were chubby or if her's are just peanuts.

There is no standard "one-size-fits-all" weight range for cats, since every cat is individual in physiology, bone structure etc.

However, there is a body condition score chart your vet can utilize in determining whether or not your cats fall into the "ideal" body condition range. If at any time you feel your cats may be overweight, get them examined by your vet immediately.
