is my cat depressed? help!
Re: is my cat depressed? help!
Was the vet visit two months ago exactly, when the vet prescribed the weight management diet? If he's lost 2 pounds in two months, depending on his individual needs, this could be too rapid of a weight reduction. Please discuss this in FULL with the vet, and ask about bloodwork to monitor his liver and kidney function, blood and urine glucose, etc. If too much weight is lost too soon, various health conditions can develop, such as liver disease, diabetes, etc, your vet really needs to be careful with Cooter and monitor his liver function, etc. You really want to check on this because his recent behavioral changes, etc could actually have some relation to a new health problem, be sure to discuss this at length with your vet TODAY.

Hi there! I just talked called and talked with someone....they are going to give me an estimate soon but want to do the bloodwork. They also have to drug him in order to do these things because he gets scared and freaks out. Poor little guy....I just want him to be okay. Looks like my rent is going to be late, though.....oh well......his life is more important.

Ok, good to hear about the bloodwork....I know it's pricey, but it is worth it and necessary to ensure he's in excellent health. Any time there is a new treatment plan for anything, especially when there have also been changes in the home environment, it's wise to get bloodwork checked.
Write notes if you have to when you're talking to your vet, it always helps so you know you haven't forgotten things you wanted to ask.
