tremble, leg-shivering & whole body.

Post by ragsjpause »

A good friend asked me to see what I could find about this, because she doesn't know much on looking up stuff... but, I couldn't find anything either...
She has a Schnauser , 11 years old now, with pancreatitus and some back-pain trouble.
- Question on:
- Trembling. ( Started with leg tremble, but now has whole body trembling)
-This trembling/shaking is all the time... not just on occasion.

-She has had several hundred dollars worth of tests with no results on the reason for the trembling/shaking.
-There are no other symptoms ... not weak, no urination trouble, not panting, no hair loss, not cold, not dizzy, not signs of discomfort...

- Any thoughts or places I could look up to help out a bit?

I had told her of how much I have learned with my own dog with Cushing's. She would like some direction on what to do next, but feels down about not finding any hints after going through these tests.

HMMM

Sometimes I have heard my vet say that a dog can shake or tremble from being in pain. I could be that she is in pain somewhere. I would try to give her some pain meds that are stronger then Asprine and see if it stops, or maybe a seditive. Might not be the problem but its worth a try. Good luck to your friend :)

Thanks Petlovr,
I'll tell her that again. Personnaly I think she should get some more tests done. It probably is a pain response from what little I know.
Oh well. I guess all I can do is offer suggestions. Seems that is a symptom of so many things it could be anything, but more likely is like you said - a pain response. Thanks - Patrick.

Perhaps your friend's vet is not looking at the obvious. If your friend is inclined, ask her to get a second opinion and test for neurological disorders (which can occur from various illnesses, from organ failure to tick disease, etc)...the back pain might be the most obvious clue...
