Don and Dawn, two rescuers who came from Florida to our dingy little shelter. They are taking some of our dogs and cats.
They had with them their constant traveling companion Sam, a Bichon Frise from a rescue in Florida.
Sam gets to go everywhere with Don, because he is Don's safety net. Don is Diabetic, like Cheryl. When his blood sugar is too low or too high, Sam "Attacks" Don. Like Mr. Dawg, he has saved his owner's live several times.
I think I saw a small paws rescue today...

I don't remember you saying Mr Dawg did that! What a great buddy to have around!

I have heard of dogs who can tell the changes in the chemical smells of humans when blood sugars or other levels are off...how wonderful that Mr. Dawg and Sam can do that!!
And it is great that more dogs will be going to find good permanent homes...
I guess we had a truck come up here to Sioux City from somewhere down there...they were taking these poor scared critters from the truck, shaking wiht tails between their legs...but the workers at the shelter went to them and started hugging and petting them and soon all tails were wagging

I think they came into a shelter near us. There was something on the news last night about the arrival of pets from the NOLA area.
