New kitty!
I don't think anyone will remember me, but back in late 2002/early 2003, I had gotten an orange tabby named Cody. I stopped posting when the guy I had been living with took off and took Cody with him. From what I've heard, Cody is living a happy life with that guy's parents, though I still miss him -- the cat, not the guy.
ANYWAY, I'm in a much different position in life now. I'm newly married (as of September 10th), and my husband called me from work today. He said that there was a kitten who had gotten into the machine shop, and he was dispatched (not sure why, but not complaining!) to retrieve the cat before it was injured. The part of Detroit he works in, there was almost no chance of this cat being a pet, and if it is, they probably won't notice that she's gone.
I drove down there, got the kitty, and brought her straight to the vet. She's about six weeks old, and GORGEOUS. We named her Isabelle, Izzy for short. She's a medium-haired gray tabby-ish kitten, and she is as affectionate as any cat I've ever seen. She loves attention and affection; she's walking all over me right now, and when I brought her home, I gave her a bath and then applied the flea drops the vet gave me, and she curled up on my lap and layed there for hours. She was much more interested in cuddling with me than with exploring her new home! I couldn't be happier to have a new kitty. I do have a couple of questions though, so I'll make a separate post in the health forum. I just wanted to say, I'm glad to be back, and glad to have a REASON to be back!

Re: New kitty!
Pics have been taken, I just can't find the USB cable for the camera, lol. It's lost somewhere in the suitcase we took on our honeymoon. I'll find it tomorrow when I'm not way preoccupied with "OMG KITTY SO ADORABLE!!!"
Oh, what am I talking about? Of course I'll still be preoccupied! But I'll find the cable.

So, there are two new family members in one month? What can I say. CONGRATULATIONS!

Re: New kitty!
Thanks.
She's absolutely precious. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so worried about her, it being her first night and all. Even though she was in the bathroom, and there was absolutely nothing she could get into, and she never meowed once... I was up all night. lol. She's just so darn adorable.

Re: New kitty!
Taking a nap on my lap. She stayed there for about three hours after bringing her home, far more content to snuggle with me than to explore the new digs. I'm not complaining.
A slightly more awake picture of my beautiful new girl.

Uh-oh, Mom caught me already!
Mmm, so comfy.
Re: New kitty!
God, is she cuuute, or what? Looks like she has lovely, soft fur. She's lucky she found you - and you're lucky to have found her!
