hmmm...not sure, could be a browser issue.

anyone out there got this working for them? (i wont use it given my access, would rather supply the login info, but i can see how this would be nice to use)

i'll do some testing, but if someone else is already got it working...i would like to hear your config on cookies and browser type.

It's all good...

The only thing I would like to see, is a place for people to type in their credit card numbers for addmission to Kevin's room. And maybe you could like set up a post office box for the ones that would like to send cash or checks. And maybe you could give out gift certificats for slurpees. And maybe you coulld wash my car once or twice a week.Anyway that't the only thing I se that is needed.. at least for right now but then it's kinda early yet.
Oh one other thing... it owuld be nice if like every other posting at Debbies cloud gave my room the credit fot the posting since this whole compitition thing is getting so heated up right now and I wanna win cause I like cookies. I also like most cheese and I like beer too. Thank you.

are you sure people would want to pay (even in lousy doggie bones)? would hate for kevin's room to be a lonely place.

i am a slurpee addict, i have none to spare.

now now, you have to play fair. also, notice the fairly intelligent posts made by the cat people here. kevin....your misrepresenting aren't you?

Hmmm

Post by TheSkeptic »

Very little I would like to see changed. ....

Maybe help find out why the emoticon's aren't working on my Mac. ](*,)

I get tired of having to look at the bottom of the window to see what text I have to type to display the emoticon I want. .....

Other than that little quibble.... \:D/

the function to import the emoticons is a javascript function. as long as your browser handles javascript correctly, it should work with no problems.

if your using ie and cant get it to work, then you may want to try downloading mozilla or the latest netscape.

if i had a mac i would help further, but i dont do apples (although i like the darwin project).

I have a Mac (OS X, and usually I use IE 5) and the emoticons work just fine. Skeptic, if you're not using OS X, it's definitely worth it! (but don't buy 10.2 ... wait a few months for 10.3 to come out first) :)

I do have a suggestion though - I was actually going to ask for a search function, but then I figured I'd better look around and make sure I hadn't missed it before I asked. I had totally missed it ... so would you consider making it more prominent? Like, maybe make a very basic search form, just a text field and a "go" button, on the Forum Index page? The search page is kind of complicated, so having a "simple" and "advanced" search would be cool.

That's my only (teensy) suggestion. I'm very happy now that I found the search page! You've both done a great job! :)

Actually, what is nice about the search feature is that you can customize your search. You only need fill in exactly what you're looking for.

I don't think an added searchbox is really necessary, and would distract from the design. All menu options are at the top of the board, conveniently placed (IMO).

 and as you would expect, the "search for all" will return a more refined list of results than the "search for any".

I really like it; I just didn't *see* it until I started looking ... duh. My fault.
