tear stains??

Sorry, not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but I was wondering if anyone had a good remedy for tear stains?

they are caused by oxidation of the tears, often from a low grade bacterial infection...this is not the cause of all of them but i used to tell clients to clean up the area the best they could, clip the stained area off and the apply a aslight coat of vaseline every few days to the area so the tears at least fall off...sometimes the process stops on its own,sometimes it requires antibiotics

He just got a clean bill of health from the vet last week, so maybe it won't be an infection.
