E's Hobbit...msg

Post by LM »

What can I can do to help? Are you even online? Please email me at LM (at) wonderpuppy.net.

I've decided I trust NONE of the agencies involved down there, even if they're trustworthy in themselves, some one else seems to be messing with them in one way or another. So I want to help people I know are affected more directly.

I can't get into what used to be Kevin's room (what's up with THAT, LOL), I apparently dont have permission. It's been that long since I posted here I guess. Could someone please repost this there for me if you think she'll see this message quicker there?

Obligatory Leilah pic, from about 6 weeks ago, in her new career as an AGILITY dog:

I don't let her jump too much between her age (9 years now), too straight shoulders and luxated patellas, but she's loving it and doing great. Last onco checkup was last week and she's A+ :D

LM, as long as you are registered, you are allowed access to Kevin's Room....be sure you are logged in, this is the only way to access Kev's.

I'm sure E's will see your message, she's been checking in when she can, although her access is a bit limited....

Sorry, I meant the "Other Room", not Kevin's. I apparently can't read tonight, sheesh! Not sure if you want to give me access to that other room or not, if I would belong there, or what it's even for. It's cool any which way way since I'm hardly here. Copper kept me hopping so much for so long that I cut way back on boards and I now have a gazillion projects I'm juggling.

BTW, I lost Copper in April. They suspect it was a brain tumor that may or may not have been unrelated to his paralysis and spinal issues and that he was right on the verge of a neurologic crash. But right up until his last few days he was the happiest basketcase you ever saw!

Anyway, I don't know where I want to be on your boards LOL, I just want E's hobbit to see my message.

3 p.m. Tuesday 6 Sept 2005. First time I've been online in the last several days... son busy with FEMA, insurance, banks, friends and biz associates.... on and on. Thanks LM! I have thought of you so often. Sorry about dear Copper - but feel certain he is runnin' happy some where waiting for the rest of you to catch up.

We are still waiting for some definite word from our NOLA neighborhood... I believe daughter Nan in Austin was in contact with rescue operations... but not sure. Her daughter, age 34, also in Austin, has lost both of her childhood homes, and all 3 of her remaining grandparents (I am a widow) are now displaced person. Paw Paw and Maw Maw are at their son't home in Baton Rouge, and I will be going onover to Austin/Round Rock in a week or so.

We here keep coming back to all the horror still to unfold in our beloved old seaport city... the magnitude of disaster effects the whole country and is hard for us to keep in context with individual losses.

Please everybody, post here as often as you can... it really, really helps.

much love to all

Dot B

PS: `Eowyn of Colmar (Winnie Poo Dog) and Dunebuggy (a.k.a. Doonesbury/Duke of Earl) are well and happy. Felicikitty has a bit of constipation but is better today.

Traci, thanks for PMs. Please move this to other board(s) if necessary.

LM...I wonder if this is the reason you can't get into the Other Room...

Actually, I made the access easier and it's automated if people want to join...all they have to do is click on the Groups button on the index page, and go from there, it's automatic (provided they are already a registered user)....I PM'd LM earlier.

E's, good to hear from you again! It's nice to know that we can help keep your spirits up just by posting! At least it feels like something more than feeling so powerless to do more....

E's you are NOT a displaced person, YOU are a SURVIVOR!!

We all need to get one of those hand painted "I survived Katrina" T-Shirts they are selling in the quarter. I wonder if I can finagle some reason to go there in the Parish truck. I just can't make up my mind if it was the design of the shirt or the buxom girl modeling it that got my attention.

E's, I pm'd you, so please check that next chance you get. I'm so glad to hear you've landed somewhere safe. ((((hugs)))))

Traci, it was real hard when I lost him, but I know I gave him all I could as long as I could and I have not one single regret. But at least Leilah's pretty happy to be an only dog and take her rightful place in the center of the universerse, LOL.

Skeptic, you may, ahem, have to get a closer look at those shirts....
