Do not shave her. Get her to your vet for an exam...as explained before, your vet can recommend a safe flea medication and will even apply it for you. You need to determine her overall health status since she is pregnant. Get her seen TODAY.

You have to put the correct dosage according to her weight, otherwise it might not be effective. I assume he gave you the spot-on little tube? Just squirt it into her neck, where she can't reach with her tongue. She'll be alright. The fleas will pose a greater risk to her babies than the Frontline.

If you took her to your vet, what did he say about her overall health status, and her pregnancy??

Don't take it into your own hands to dose with the Frontline, if the vet told you to give the full dose, then do what he told you to do. If you have questions or doubts, you need to ask the vet, not us, as he is the only one who has examined her, or knows her health status.

I will say this again, since she is pregnant, you need to exercise concern about her and the delivery of her kittens, did your vet tell you how many kittens he expects there are, did he x-ray her? Is he going to be available to you in the event of an emergency during her delivery? You need to be prepared in advance!

NO HE DIDNT XRAY HER..HE LISTEND TO HER HEART, PAUSED FOR A MIN AND SAID "LET ME LISTEN AGAIN"..SAID SHE WAS "PLUMP"
I PUT THE FRONT LINE ON THE BACK OF HER NECK AND SHE WAS LICKING IT FOR EVER.REACHING AROUND LIKE SHE WAS PART BIRD
AND THEN SHE WAS SALIVATING A LOT DUE TO SWALLOWING IT
I ALSO HAD TO DO MY "NUTURED MALE CAT BUT THEY KEPT CLEANING EACH OTHER!
I DIDNT THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT A WHOLE TUBE ON EITHER OF THEM SINCE THEY JUST LICKED IT OFF ONE ANOTHER.
I DONT SEE ANY FLEAS ANY MORE.
THE NEXT DOSE I GIVE WILL BE A FULL AMOUNT.
I SUSPECT AROUND FIVE OR SIX
AND YES I AM PREPARED IVE DONE THIS BEFORE
NO HE MOST LIKLEY WONT BE AVAILABLE IN EMERGENCY AS HE IS HARD TO REACH..
I PLAN TO FIND A NEW DOCTOR FOR HER HE DOSENT SEEM THOUROUGH ENOUGH FOR ME

Did your vet explain to you how to apply the Frontline? You need to follow the package directions SPECIFICALLY, meaning, apply the tube's content directly behind the back of the neck where the cat cannot reach around to lick it or ingest it.

Do NOT re-apply another dose. This medication CANNOT be reapplied for 30 days, to do so would be risking serious skin irritation.

Call your vet back and explain what you have done. Tell him where on the cats' body and how you applied the Frontline, tell him your cats' ingested it and one is drooling... he will advise you further. He may advise you to remove any remaining residue or may suggest re-applying in 30 days only, only HE can tell you that.

In the meantime, get a flea comb and use it daily...dip it in a bowl of warm water with a drop or two of Dawn Dishsoap (the regular blue type), comb through cat's fur, rinse comb, repeat until all evidence of fleas are gone.

I DO BELIEVE I JUST SAID THER ARE NO FLES. AND I PUT IT ON THE SPOT WHERE YOU ARE TO PUT IT..."ON THE BACK OF THE NECK"
SHE WAS LICKING MY OTHER CATS NECK AND TURNING AROUND LIKE A BIRD TO LICK HER OWN, AS I PREVIOUSLY SAID BEFOR, I DID CALL HIM TELLING HIM WHAT SHE HAD DONE AND THAT SHE WAS SALIVATING, HE SAID "LET IT WORK" AND THAT THAT WAS NORMAL, AS THE BOX ALSO SAYS THE SAME THING
.
ALSO. HER NEXT DOSE IS "IN 30 DAYS" THAT WOULD BE SEPT 17TH. HER KITTENS WILL BE 6 DAYS OLD IF THEY ARE ON TIME,
I DO BELIEVE THAT IF I DOSE HER AGAIN THAT THE FRONTLINE WILL BE INGESTED BY THE KITTENS SINCE THE MEDICATION IS ABSORBED INTO THE SKIN? THEY WILL BE SUCKLING..
THANK YOU FOR THE WET COMB AND DAWN IDEA..ILL TRY THAT WHILE THE KITTENS ARE NURSING

You need to get the flea problem controlled before the kittens are born.

This would also involve treating the environment, so vaccum everything, all your carpets and rugs, furniture, the areas where the cats sleep, etc.

My mom has been fighting a flea problem in one bedroom upstairs where her male cat prefers to live...so she removed him from the room for a couple of days to bomb the room, then cleaned up before letting him back in a couple of days later...
yes he was a wreck not being able to be in "his room" but he survived...

Mom also treated him with Frontline when she removed him, and treated the room she had him in when he went back to his own room...

and every time she goes into his room to spend time with him, feed and water him, clean the litter box, etc...she keeps a can of flea spray outside the room, and as soon as she leaves, she sprays her pants and shoes in case any did jump onto her so she does not carry them throughout the house...

Notice...she sprays AFTER she has been in the room, and NOT when she enters, so that Smoky can rub up against her and play and she does not need to worry about the flea spray giving him any troubles...

I hope you get your flea troubles under control...they are bad this year...I too am dealing with them wiht my 11 cats and 3 dogs...NOT FUN :(
