I figured you were tired of pictures of my dogs so here are a few from the Shelter.
This beautiful black shepherd puppy was an owner give up today.
Another owner give up was this GSD/Rottie mix. He is very hard to get a picture of as he won't keep still. It is so hard ot get someone to hold the dogs so I can take their pictures. They are always so busy feeding, cleaning, answering the phone, washing towels and comforters and even cutting the grass!
This guy would dash off to sniff the fence line.....
Then dash back for some lovin. ...
and repeat ad infinitum!
HEre is a heartbreaker for you. Look at the condition of this old dog we picked up. Obviously abandoned by his owner. I won't make any further comment on him. I will let the pictures speak for him.
If anyone can help this old lady before she goes to the bridge,
She is at the:
St. John the Baptist Parish Animal Shelter
124 Water Plant Road
LaPlace, LA 70068

I will leave you with this mystery doggy. Can you guess who the ice cream lover is? Can you guess how she got the container down from the counter? All the other dogs were outside. ....

Did she get her head stuck in it? Or come out with ice cream smeared all over her face? My Shida likes to lick yogurt containers clean. They are too long for her to get her tongue to the bottom, so in the beginning she was struggling to get that last bit out ... till I showed her how to put her whole snout in and then it was easy! The look on her face when I showed her that was priceless! You could see the 'Ahaaaa' going through her little brain, lol! Now she comes out with yogurt smeared all over her snout!
I see street dogs here looking as skinny as that poor thing. Common here

Coco couldn't get deep enough to get the dregs in the bottom, but we helped her with a spoon.
Re: Shelter dog pictures. ....
You never told us how Coco got the icecream off the counter. I know she's pretty old, but can she still jump that high or did she get up on a chair and help herself?

I think Coco had help of the two legged variety and it wasn't me so that leaves Cheryl. ....
I have a sad update on two of the dogs in the picture above.
The Old GSD had to be sent to the bridge. I held her in my arms as she passed over.
THe GSD/Rottie evidently never had any shots and got Parvo and died.

oh I am so sorry to hear about both of them...I could not ever, EVER do your job...it would be too heartbreaking...but I have to give credit and honor to those of you who are there for those beautiful animals in their last moments here on earth...at least they know that at the end, someone did love and care for them...even if only for a fleeting moment...one day you will have MANY MANY beloved followers/escorts who are waiting for you at the Bridge...
