I know you're right Traci and I agree with everything you said. However, if these people are this nutty to get themselves into a situation like this in the first place, I doubt that I will get through to them. I printed out some in-depth info on Pugs for them to read hoping it might sink in how important it is to take better care of him. I'm going to keep my eyes open and if I see any signs of abuse/neglect I'm going to call the police, you better believe it. I'd rather see the dog in a shelter where he might have a chance.

I did speak to another professional trainer last night who was very nice and told me that he also thought it might be too much for me at this point in time. He said that Oliver could be trained -- that he has trained dogs as old as 13 years. But it would take a good five weeks of my spending time every day. He told me a lot about dogs (I'm a cat person so my knowledge of doggies is almost nil). I ASK EVERYONE TO PRAY FOR OLIVER THAT HE MAY FIND A LOVING FAMILY ASAP.

I pray for him. It's heartening to know that there are people like you who care. I just posted about a friend who wants to give away her dog which she had for nine years. If she can't find a home soon, he'll be euthanized. Here is the link http://www.cathelp-online.com/forums/vi ... php?t=7375 Your neighbour's dog certainly has better chances than him.

Are they actively looking for a good place for him? Maybe you can help out that way, if you can't take him yourself.
