PRAYER FOR OUR ANIMAL FRIENDS
(To make a Novena for a sick pet, say this prayer for 9 consecutive days)
Heavenly Father, the bond we have with our friends of other species is a wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. They trust in us as we trust in You. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of Yours. Our souls and theirs are on this earth together to share friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and bless these ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have:
(Please keep all of the ferals safe from harm and other animals).
Your goodness is turned upon every living thing; Your grace flows to all Your creatures; Your Light touches each of us with the reflection of Your love. Grant long and healthy lives to our special animal companions. Bless their relationships with us, and if You see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us but only drawing closer to You. Grant our prayer through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored You through all Your creatures. Empower him to watch over our animal friends until they are safely with You in eternity, where we someday hope to join them in honoring You forever. Amen.
For the Feral Cats
For the Feral Cats
This is not for anyone in particular...but I have discovered, from hearing it outside all evening and searching online, that we have a Barn Owl outside...and with all of the ferals...I just want to say a prayer for thier safety...and that the owl will leave them alone in favour of the many mice and rats that inhabit the grainery area!
Re: For the Feral Cats

Re: For the Feral Cats
Could not have come at a better time, thanks for passing it along.
you are welcome...it is taken from a page on St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals...in the words I put in parenthesis is where you could say wahtever animal(s) you are praying for and what their troubles are)
I am still hearing the owl, or rather, owls...two of them that I can tell...but so far all the cats/kittens are accounted for...they hide either udner the grainery or under our porch!!
As long as the owl keeps its distance...I do not want one in our house...like my former MIL did once!!!
There was a comotion in her kitchen, she went to see what it was, and there was an owl on her kitchen table!!...She reached out and picked it up and took it to the bedroom to show her husband, before she let it back outside...
She figures one of the kids left the door open, and somehow, it managed to fly in, just as any other daytime bird might...
But then, for 2 or 3 days after that, or rather, nights...she would be washing dishes and look up to see that owl sitting on the window ledge looking in at her...hahaha
