I love and miss you, Mollie

Yesterday afternoon, my cat and friend of 15 years, Mollie, passed away. I knew that, in his old age, he may not have had a lot longer, but I did not expect him to leave so soon. At the very least, I was happy to be able to hold him in my arms one last time and tell him how much he meant to me. I only hope he will remember me as he passes into the spirit world. He was my first pet, friend, and memory (I have had him since I was 3 years old).

From the time he was a rambunctious young boy up until his final hours, my Mollie never lost that light in his eyes...that vitality was still alive within him throughout his entire existence. I know the spirits will enjoy his company.

R.I.P. Mollie, my beloved friend and companion, July 18, 1990 - August 31, 2005: You will remain in our hearts forever.

I am very sorry for your loss. Living to a great age doesn't make them any easier to lose. Still, I hope you will be comforted by knowing you gave Mollie a very good life... and by realizing that you also were fortunate in being able to grow up with a childhood pet.
