Babies From Garage

Post by Tambrey »

Well, DH managed to catch one of the four feral babies in our garage...she was the brave one and came wandering onto his shoes while he stood out there...she is soooo cute...I took a picture of her, and want to get pics of the others as we catch them, but when DH took her back out, the others were ALOT more cautious...

The last one could not be caught...well, we did catch her once about a week ago...a little yellow fluffball

DH went out to get these and another momma feral was sneaking up on these while they nursed on their momma...they were lazing in the grass outside the garage enjoying the evening...but DH shoooed that other sneaky momma away...

yes...their momma feeds them well...she is still nursing but they are beginning to eat dry kibble and drink water that I leave out there for them...they run and hide from us and it took a while to try to catch any of them!!!

She is a very good momma to her babies...but we would love to be able to find good homes for them, and catch and spay her!!

Wow, the first one is a beauty! Love the colours. The other two look like twins, haha. You have to find names like 'Pit and Pat' for them.

God, if I could only have ALL the cats in the world I would be so happy! :D

yes, the two do look alot alike, but the one on the left of the photo is a fluffball, whereas the one on the right is going to be a shorthair...but they do look sooo much alike otherwise!

I managed to sit quietly and catch all FOUR of them today and hold each one on my lap and rub its head and ears before releasing each one back to momma...
LOTS of patience and sitting still waiting for them to get curious enough to get close enough...LOL

What you are doing could save their lives. Thank you for your time and patience. Feral cats that come into the shelter end up almost immediately in Kitty heaven.

Skeptic...thank you...that is my goal at least...if I can get them used to people and find them good homes, then I have done my job...well...I still need to catch the momma and get her spayed...but with a $300+ vet bill to pay off right now, I just cannot afford that right now...

They are still all hissy spitty right now, but the one fluffball darker one does not run like the others...that darned yellow one is the hissiest...hahah...and that is the one we expected to NOT make it, because when they were VERY tiny babies, eyes not even open, DH went one day to check on them and that one was a bit cool to the touch...now it is bigger than all the rest...it fought its way to the top!!!...But it was sooo cute when I did pick it up...hahaha...all hissy spitty and paws flying by its face...soooo fierce!!!!

I met a new woman who just moved to town who LOVES cats and has five of her own...one of hers excaped the house and got pregnant in the process, so that is why they have five right now...she had found good homes for them all, but her fiance decided he wants to keep them all...so now she was wondering what to tell those people she had lined up for the kittens...hopefully these kittens can go!!...She said she is VERY PICKY about where her babies go...she is just like me, so I would trust whatever homes she finds if she felt comfortable to let her own kittens go to them...

We have another feral momma who is a very good mother...she has her kittens under the grainery and we do not even ever see them until they are 3-4 months old...but we will take food and water over and leave in dishes under the steps...and the guys who work there know she has them there and leave her be...I have found homes for most of her kittens, because she will bring them to us when she is ready to let them go...as if she knows they are in good hands...
