Some TX doggies

Post by E's »

I've been meaning to send for awhile - hope they're still viable; pics were taken last fall...

Ding is the border collie, senior ranch dog - he went to cow herding school but was sent home as unteachable  seems he only wanted to play instead of work.

Next is Osh, who showed up at the doorstep as a tiny injured puppy; house is at least a mile from any road... no telling how he survived. Later he also survived rattlesnake bite and a severe virus caught from a wild critter (probably a raccoon) - his name is short for what sis-in-law was heard to mutter when he arrived, "O sh... another dog!"

These dogs are loved and cared for, but they live outdoors. Sandbox near the fish pond is kept damp as a cool spot in hot weather.

And some of the longhorns Ding was supposed to herd... they just laugh at him, I think!

fun pics!...I had a border collie...she was military trained to sense danger and attack...she was a great dog!!

Osh name reminds me of a dog we had named Anything...I had been calling her Butterball because of her yellow colour and fat tummy, but my husband then did not like that name, I said, "Well, what do you want me to call her then?" He said, "Anything but that!"...sheI did...her name was Anything But That!

thanks for sharing them!!

Aawww! I LOVE Osh! He has such soulfull, knowing eyes! The name reminds of an Indian mystic who's name was Osho. Meaning is 'oceanic'. It's from an Eastern religion called Zen.

Sweet dogs!!
Osh's paws are like Crystals. They look like big baseball mitts.

I love Ding- reminds me of Honey. And she being a BC mix- loves to herd-( but not long-horns either, Ding) just cats. So I guess you could say she loves to play, too.
