Do you ever sing to your cats? We often do it, although my husband can't hold a note and it sounds more like rap, lol, but that's alright with them, of course. We make up nonsense songs, playing around with their names, for example, like "Tim-Tom, Tommely-Tum, Tommy-Pommy, Timshi-Tom", etc, and they love it. When he hears his name, he meows back, it's so cute, as if joining in. It's a good way to have them entertained when I have my hands busy with other things and can't cuddle them. But we also sing while cuddling them.
Maybe we should consider to compete in American Idol, or rather Indian Idol next year ...

When Al was recovering from the fire I would sit & sing softy to him. Now whenever Im singing outloud to myself he comes running & meows right along with me. He's such a blessing.

He was burnt? Poor guy! I hope he's all better now. Yes, singing reaches them. And I found that mine like it when it's always the same song. All about routine
Re: Feline musical entertainment
Honey loves to be sang to...she dances...and we dance together- I know- nuts, but if you can't find joy with your pet then you're doin somthin wrong.
Re: Feline musical entertainment
Yep, I sing to mine all the time. Each one has their own "name song" and it especially helps when I am trimming their nails. Keeps them calm for the 20 seconds that I have to get all paws done.

'Name song', yes, that's the right word for it!
