Hm, the article is dated April 8, wonder if the owner is home yet.
But, as the neighbor said, she'd break in if it were necessary. The humane society could do the same thing if they had reason to believe she was not being cared for or was abandoned.
As for litterbox duty, probably chose a closet or small room. Poor baby.

I remember reading that story when it happened. Let's hope the neighbor is anything like us and broke in to save that poor kitty.
